this year, i got a double dose of valentines day! heike batluck and i had left dinner up to the boys for a late valentine date...so i didn't have any idea what was planned. the week of valentines day, dan asked andy if we wanted to join them on a double date...so i ended up getting a bonus date! we had so much fun with dan and denise. the boys took us to old navy and academy...and at each spot we had to pick out gifts for our spouse in 15 min. then we had dinner at a little italian place and shared what we got! it was SO fun...but sadly, i didn't take any pictures! ah!

the boys gave us this note and some specially crafted hershey kisses...there were all kinds of ideas and choices, and we got to choose our dinner spot, activity and dessert. we chose a place called "yardhouse"...it was delicious and fun to walk around the shopping area. we had dessert at a little bakery....and then ended up at the westin hotel for a night away! there happen to be a cheesecake factory next door...and we might have gotten a second dessert and eaten it in the hotel hot tub....buuttt... we won't mention that! we had breakfast at la madeleine the next morning....super fun getaway! and major props to sarah beth for taking on all of our 7 kids overnight!!!
