easter

i always love church on easter because everyone picks their most springy colors and its so bright and cheerful. which is perfect as its the day Christ has risen...and its like everything just comes to life with HIM!! we always do an easter photo...my guys are getting so big...soon, they will be stooping to my height...

catch up

i'm always getting ready for a post (like today's tysens birthday)...and then realize that i'm behind on my stories, so i have to catch up before i can post about tysen's birthday!!
a few weeks ago, our long lost "adopted son" came to visit...the boys said he is like their older brother...and he really is. its so fun to have him around....

(group shot with sarah beth hudspeth and sarah telaneus visiting too!!)

logan turned 10 this year, which means he is up for his first trip with dad!!  he had a few choices, but oddly enough, he just wanted to stay in a hotel somewhere and go eat at golden corral. so...that's what they did! great father/son bonding...

and sam got his aggie ring!! which, in every other part of the world is just normal...but here in aggieland, its a HUGE deal....most of the family came in and we had a great time celebrating sam! as usual, i was just being a rebel, but i actually do like the aggies now...:)

i loved this shot of the "oldest" and the "youngest" cousin at this point in time!

just trying to take more pictures and capture fun moments....

post spring break

trey and stacy went to brenham for a visit at aunt anns while we were camping, so we had plans to have dinner with dad after they left...but trey got sick (which was sad cuz we didn't see him), so the girls got to join us for dinner!! that was a fun treat to see them too!

spring break

spring break camping!! we had planned this trip with linda and terry months ago...we met them at lake tawakoni for several days of (rv) camping. we headed out about 11am on wednesday...
there was a leak in the camper, so we all went into town to get a part, and have dinner...we ate at a little hole in the wall called "gorditas express"....it was good, but the sopapillas were amazing!
its funny, cuz we when we camp, the boys want to spend more time in the camper...and we have to pretty much make them go outside! but late nights and early morning were pretty cold, so we played a lot of games and had some movie time...
on thursday we went into rockwall to meet joey and kyle and the boys...she is soooo pregnant with olivia, so they couldn't camp...but we got to have lunch and spend a little time with them...
this wall was higher than it appeared...i tried to get up there, but was too scared! :)
back to the campgrounds...we had dessert for dinner one night....bike rides...and fires!!

friday we attempted to go fishing...the boys got bored pretty fast...but i had fun trying! nobody caught anything...:( also got to do some exploring on the trails...and the lake...TONS OF FUN!!

brotherhood surprise

the brotherhood wives got together and planned a surprise weekend together, and it had finally arrived! we picked a semi-central meeting point, ennis, and booked a hotel and none of the guys knew!
the possibilities are ennis....:)
the marshalls kept our boys, and since they were picking them up from school, we left early and i planned a few stops on our way to our destination....

first stop was lunch at Padrinos...it was the number one place to eat in Fairfield...super delish!
next stop...russell stover outlet store in corsicana...granddad always had these chocolates out when we would visit him as kids...so i was just intriqued and wanted to see the place...and we left with a huge bag of chocolates...
we met up and everyone was successfully surprised!! we had dinner at "firehouse grill"...the number one place to eat in ennis....it was the perfect atmosphere for our group!
after and icecream and coffee run, the rest of the evening was spent chilling in the lobby area and just catching up (until the boys hit the hot tub around midnight)...we could literally all just talk for hours on end! we broke out some wine, and had our massive box of chocolates to munch on!
the next morning was breakfast at the hotel...and more chatting....then we headed to waxahachie for lunch at "the dove's nest"...a quaint little tearoom type place...they literally had the BEST chocolate pecan pie! YUM. and then we parted ways...deciding that this was going to be a new annual tradition!
